Learning a language should not be limited solely to the classroom; it is also important to understand the social, cultural and historical contexts. At Funcarele, we want you to get a real feel for the city in which you are studying. To that end, we regularly update our calendar of extra-curricular activities, which include conversation classes, culture lessons, reading workshops, Spanish-language films, day trips, sports and guided visits, amongst others. What’s more, there are plenty of other activities organised by the University and the Town Hall for you to take part in.
Come along to one of our free conversation classes held every Wednesday from 17:00 to 18:00 in the café Timber (calle Jara 15). Each session is overseen by one of our teachers and presents a fantastic opportunity to get in some speaking practice in a relaxed atmosphere, as well getting to know fellow students from our centre.
Vive España: free Spanish and Hispanic culture classes held every Friday from 17:00 to 18:00 in our centre. Taking in thousands of years of history, you’ll learn all about our most surprising traditions, the origin and celebration of our most popular holidays and our varied gastronomy. You’ll also discover the beauty of some of our most emblematic cities, the peculiarities of the Spanish character and much more, all in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Join us on our guided walks to learn all about the city, taking in the museums, hiking routes, the Literary Route, the Modernist Route, the Tapas Route and much more.
